Logan community members and a coalition of greyhound protection groups have turned out in force to loudly protest state government plans to build a new greyhound racing track at Cronulla Park, Slacks Creek.

Animal Liberation Queensland reports a further 1,000 plus signatures were lodged with the Logan City Council on Tuesday 16th September opposing the ‘socially unacceptable’ Cronulla Park Greyhound Complex. The number of local residents and visitors to Logan who are opposed to the Greyhound Racing complex is quickly approaching 10,000!

Animal Liberation Queensland [ALQ] is extremely disappointed that Bendigo Bank sponsored the Ipswich Greyhound Puppy Auction last Sunday 24 August at Ipswich Showgrounds.
Whilst, on the one hand, the Bendigo Bank commendably supports homeless animal adoption, it is showing quite inconsistent ethics in its support of the greyhound racing industry which is directly responsible for the overbreeding and the subsequent “wastage” of some 17,000 dogs each year in Australia.
